Municipality of Kamnik
The purpose of the project is the construction and improvement of water supply network in the municipality of Kamnik, which will provide a reliable supply of safe drinking water. Also, the project follows international obligation, the implementation of the strategic orientations of the country in the field of communal infrastructure and the implementation of the regulations in force in the field of environment. The primary purpose of the project is a comprehensive solution to the water supply system in the municipality of Kamnik until 2017. The investment includes the construction of new pipelines with the necessary facilities.
Strategic and operational objectives of the project:
- construction of 18,720 meters of watertight pipes of suitable profiles,
- to connect additional 44 residents to a public system of drinking water supply,
- ensuring a reliable supply of good quality drinking water and protection of water resources for the residents of the municipality of Kamnik,
- providing adequate quantities of drinking water,
- reduction of water losses,
- providing cost-effective supply of drinking water,
- to improve the flow and pressure conditions and
- to provide greater fire safety.
The project was divided into the following sections:
Lot A: Plumbing Vrhpolje - Šmartno and objects in the water distribution network in the Tuhinj Valley
Depending on the intended use of water in the combined distribution network it will be necessary to ensure the flow of 10 l/s of water from the central water supply system. Depending on the water pressure in the existing water supply network it will be necessary to provide the pumping water flow up to 12 l/s and on the network up to 10 l/s to the Soteska field.
Water pipes will be installed in the entire section of the primary water supply pipelines with the diameter of DN 150, pipes with the diameter of DN 100 will be connected to the existing water supply network. Before the implementation of the project appropriate profile tubes were mounted on a portion of the pumping station under Skalca to the stream Nevljica. Pipes with smaller diameters were already installed all the way to the Soteska field. With the construction of the primary water supply pipeline and facilities in the primary distribution network the flow of adequate quantities of water will be ensured in each secondary water supply network. New sewage is also being constructed in this section.
The Soteska Pumping Station will continue to serve as a primary pumping station. The facility will be fully preserved, converted to a pump that will draw water into the water storage front, with a capacity of 400 m3 and into the existing water storage Soteska. The existing water storage is the starting water pumping point of the system, Markovo - Poreber in Studenca, and continues further to the reservoir Gozd. All other existing objects in the water supply system will be maintained or upgraded properly (installation of pumps). Gravitational runoff will be regulated in the primary reservoir so the water can freely flow to the supply network Zgornji Tuhinj (to the Šmartno Pumping Station).
The next object in the primary water supply system is the Šmartno Pumping Station. Pumps for pumping water into the primary water supply system will be installed in the supply system that will lead to the pumping station Zgornji Tuhinj and all the way to the Šmartno water system and water supply system Sidol.
The total length of the primary distribution network DN 150 is 11,280 meters, in addition, the network has connected 880 meters interconnectors DN 100. During the construction of the water supply pipelines will be built and the following new facilities will be reconstructed:
- the replacement of the existing pumping stations in the Soteska field,
- water storage with the capacity of 400 m3 in the village Markova,
- pumping station Šmartno and
- the Šmartno water storage, with the capacity of 100 m3.
With the construction of the primary water supply system in the area of the Tuhinj Valley the flow of sufficient quantities of water from the central water supply system will be regulated.
Lot B: Regulation of water supply network in the southern part of the water supply system Kamnik
a. The central part of the distribution network
- Construction of a water supply between the water station Perovo and the existing plumbing system
To ensure sufficient flows between the water station Perovo and the existing water supply system in the veterinary station, 880 meters of water supply pipelines of DN 150 are being installed. The new pipeline will be connected to the existing water supply network.
In the arrangement of this part of the distribution network the capacity of the existing reservoir will increase by 200 m3. The increase (upgrading water cells) will be carried out in one of the later stages of the construction, since the existing reservoir capacity is currently insufficient.
- Connection DN 200 in the Tkalska pot
To remedy the situation in this part of the distribution network water supply pipeline link between the existing plumbing networks are being constructed in the Kovinska cesta. The length of the segment is 145 meters, in the entire section of the installation pipes with the diameter of DN 200 are being installed. Water pipeline will run parallel with the layout of the existing water supply pipeline, which will simplify the connections of existing plumbing to a new aqueduct.
b. The southern part of the water supply network - Šmarca, Volčji potok and Rudnik:
- Plumbing Šmarca (Duplica) - Volčji Potok (Phase I)
To ensure an adequate supply of water in the area of Volčji Potok it is necessary to convey sufficient amounts of water in the new inlet pipeline, which will run from the new roundabout (Duplica - Šmarca) to the existing water supply towards the golf course and Rudnik. The new pipeline is going to be connected to the existing water supply pipeline, which runs towards Šmarca. The length of the pipeline is 3,215 meters. Individual parts of the village will be supplied by the existing distribution network.
- Plumbing Šmarca (Duplica) – Volčji potok (Stage II) connection Šmarca - Volčji Potok
The second phase is focused on building plumbing connections with the existing water supply network in Šmarca. The construction of this part of the network will provide backup power areas through a distribution network in Šmarca. The length of the newly built pipe section is 795 that have a diameter of DN 100 mm.
In the area of the settlement Rudnik it is possible to ensure a normal supply of water, some parts of the settlement will be supplied with water from a hydrostation.
