Municipality of Mengeš

Within the project Drinking water supply in the area Domžale - Kamnik the municipality of Mengeš implements activities that will contribute to the quality of water supply from public water supply for all household, commercial and other institutions. This will improve the quality of water and also the availability of water quantity and reliability of water supply will increase.

To provide necessary quantities of water, works are being carried out to activate boreholes on Mengeš field, the construction of fields above the boreholes and the water supply from fields to the existing water supply network in Mengeš near the factory Lek. For greater operational safety it is necessary to connect the water supply to the Domžale water supply system, with the connector on the tubing from existing fields. Boreholes will draw water into the 880 meter long hole DN 150 mm, which will go from the borehole VDG-2 to the connecting pipeline DN 250 mm between the Domžale and Mengeš water supply systems. The length of this pipeline will be 3,040 meters. If the pumps in the boreholes turn on, depends on the level of water. The reservoir includes water pipes that allow the water to flow in to the water storage from different directions (so far out of the system Krvavec or from the field Lek). To turn off the pumps the maximum of water level must be reached. If necessary, it will be surplus of water will be added to the water supply system Domžale. It will also be possible to transport water into the plumbing system Mengeš and that directly from the Domžale plumbing system.

The system further includes a pumping station (the capacity of 10 l/s) and a water pump to maintain an adequate pressure in the network.
