Municipality of Domžale

With the implementation of the project Drinking water supply in the area Domžale – Kamnik the hydraulic improvements, the construction and modernization of the water supply system with adequate infrastructure and the incorporation of additional water resources provide a better and safer drinking water supply in the municipality of Domžale. This is achieved with the construction and reconstruction of 2,961 meters of pipelines, 3 pumping stations (Kolovec over the borehole VDG-1, above the fountain C-5) and 3 storage tanks with the activation of the well Č5 and incorporation of new borehole in Kolovec. The number of supplied population will increase to 28. The number of people who will have a guaranteed secure access to adequate health drinking water for 26,300 will also increase.

To provide additional quantities of water in a new water supply system in the municipality of Domžale, Mengeš and Trzin the existing well Č5 and the existing borehole VDG-1 on the Mengeš Field were activated. Both seizures were made several years ago, but there was no need for their activation. According to the new regulation of water supply in the municipality Mengeš, which had resigned from the water supply from the water supply system Krvavec, the activation of these two water sources become topical due to the provision of water reserves and comprehensive utilization of the Mengeš field gravel and dolomite aquifer. For the inclusion of both water resources in the existing water supply system the existing water supply network between single pumping stations are being reconstructed, so the flow of water in the municipality of Trzin is limited and the water supply in the municipality of Domžale and Mengeš is increased. Such a distribution network arrangement helps to improve the cooperation between single plumbing systems and allows full integration of all plumbing systems.

In the area of high zone between Kolovec and Radomlje it is necessary to include a new borehole. due to an increase of the water quantity. Currently, the area Kolovec includes four boreholes, which pump water into the water storage Kolovec, from which the water flows towards Radomlje and Preserje. The boreholes pump 10 l/s of water. From all the boreholes it will be possible to exploit up to 40 l/s of water. These amounts of water are primarily designed to supply the area of high zone.

With the construction of the water supply network sections the expansion of the water supply was ensured, which do not affect the operation of the entire system.

In the hamlet Zaboršt pri Dolu, which is located south of the village Selo pri Ihanu, the public water supply is connected to the existing water supply near the driveway from the main road to Dol, which passes through the village of Selo pri Dolu and ends its way in the shaft in the southern part of the village near the business establishment Termit-Ilpos It. The connection is implemented out on the driveway between the business establishment Termit-Ilpos and the residential houses and the valve is installed at the turning of the new plumbing system below the existing water supply. The route of the aqueduct runs along the access road in the direction of the main road through the village, past the buildings and parking lots.

On the main road Selo – Dol the route of the pipeline turns towards the hamlet Zaboršt, and continues along the edge of the road right next to the sidewalk, and then along the verge, off the road in the direction of Zaboršt. Turning towards the facilities of the hamlet Zaboršt pri Dolu the aligned tubes run to the entrance of the facility and end among objects in a hydrant. The plumbing is equipped with the necessary frames: valves, hydrants, vents. Waterworks that are near objects are equipped with hydrants for fire safety, the overhead hydrants are installed off the roadway and the sidewalk. At the lowest section of the aqueduct an underground hydrant is built.

The hamlet Zajelše is located east of the village Selo pri Ihanu, where the houses are arranged along the driveway that goes up the hill. Public water supply is extended to the existing water supply, which branches off the pipe in the direction of the hamlet Zajelše and ends at the first facility with a final hydrant.
